Cyberdeck Project

Project Statement

Like any good engineering project, and for cyberdecks esspecially, is a list of things that I want my cyberdeck to do. Beyond the obvious of act like a computer when powered on, of course. If I wanted that I would just either by a laptop, or use my current one. No, I want something that can do things a laptop can't, or atleast struggles to. So what could that mean for this possible cyberdeck? Well, I should start by stating the basic needs, and from that, decide what requirements those needs. Well, I would like something that can do both art, 3d modeling, web sailing, programming, maybe some light gamming, all while I can get the thing through TSA as I travel more then I would like. From those basic needs the requirements I can gleen from these are:

  • Internet Access
  • Large storage
  • Touch screen for art
  • keyboard with numpad
  • large battery charge time
  • Ability to travel through TSA

With the more basic needs out of the way, what more would I want the cyberdeck to do? I don't quite know yet. I would like the cyberdeck to be compadable with Raspberry Pi's and other microcontrollers. I would also like to be able to draw / use a touchpad for note taking while the keyboard is also out. Perhaps I can also allow the cyberdeck to have external I2C/SDA connetivity. Plenty of usb ports and a headphone jack are also something I would like.
