Projects That I Do

Occasionally

This projects section is a list of things that either I have made, want to make, or simply a talk about ideas I have rattling around in my head. There are a few projects that I would call “more complete” than the others. But make no mistake, all of these are incomplete in on way or another. I suck at finishing things.

Cyberdeck

I've been seeing a lot of people online make what are basically custom PCs using Raspberry Pis wrapped in a custom laptop casing. While yes, many of these cyberdecks endup being a black box, there are plent of the more popular types that build their own case. Some even go so far as to build their own circutboards. I find these types of projects fastinating. Most of these people build these to their own specifications. Adding bigger speakers, or a touch screen, or any thing a user might need. These are often chunky and heavy boxes, some of them I would assume to be too large and unweildy to use effectivly use as a laptop. Despite that downside, I would like to build one for my self. So, this project will document my attempt at building my own.

The following link should take you to a page that discusses my attempts in greater detail. Including what I want from my own cyberdeck, how I am building it, and my sources for my information.

Ashia Project

The Ashia Project is basically my attempt at creating a large high fantasy* world. Initially inspired by Warhammer Fantasy (the old world now), Tolkien's middle earth, among others. What I hope makes Ashia different from other people attempting the same thing is two fold: that little asterisk after the high fantasy statement, and copious amounts of crack cocaine. I am attempting to mix the grounded almost mundane feel of warhammer fantasy, with the batshit insane worldbuilding of something like Guilty Gear. As I quite like the idea of magiteck mechs fighting against more “normal” medieval armies. It makes sense in lore, I promise :)

Shattered Stars

The humans rose up, bringing their empires to the stars, and when they fell, and the skies fell with them. Now, their pets crawl amongst the ruins. Some lose themselves to endless death and regeneration. Others attempt the impossible and try their attempts to rebuild that which cannot be recreated. Most simply wander through the stars best they can, avoiding death and despairing in what was lost. A bold few, however, do not despair, and travel the universe with unearned hope. Many die, many more travel further. These Starlancers search for the last humans, for Earth, and for the Blue Star from whence all originates.

“Ever to the stars we sail, our first home awaits, our ship is true and our souls are right. Set sail! Set Sail to old horizons made new!”

-- A common Starlancer motto

What you just read is probbably the best writing I have done in a while. Hopefully I won't hold myself to that standard too much.
